The small wine region of Valtellina is located between Lombardy and the Rhaetian Alps. In 1992 started a collaboration with PietroTriacca and Stefan Keller, leading to the creation of the first Vinautori SA.
In 2002 I Vinautori produced primarily a variety of Nebbiolo and Sauvignon blanc and Syrah. The 6 acres of vineyards are planted with more than 10 packs - on a steep slopes that do not allow mechanization.
The cellar "I Vinautori" was founded in 2002, it is rooted in an experiment of the early nineties. Piero Triacca and Stefan Keller experimentally planted Sauvignon in a vineyard of Peter Triacca & Co..
In the spring of 2006, several plots have been eliminated, other have found more space and it was decided to encourage the production of wines with biodynamic methods.
The grapes come from these zoone: Pinchetta in the area Garibalda, Santa Perpetua for the Syrah, Sauvignon from the Channel and Nebbiolo from Sertola area. The years 2006 and 2007 knew an expansion of the cellars in Beride, Ticino.
Since 2008, we committed ourselves to expand in the cellars of the Palace Merizzi Tirano (16th century).
