"My grandfather was Giovanni Segantini" These were the words at the top of a letter It all started with this short, essential sentence, when in September 2012 RLA winery Triacca receives an email from a lady unknown to us, but with a famous name, Gioconda Leykauf-Segantini, who writes "My grandfather loved the wines of Valtellina and drank them at the table. I would be happy if there was a wine of Valtellina with a beautiful painting of Segantini on the label."
By chance that this wine already existed. A year earlier, the House wine Triacca had decided to produce a new wine, honing in large barrels, according to the tradition of Valtellina, rather than in barrels, part of the 2010 harvest obtained by withering on the vine.
Mrs. Gioconda accepted with great enthusiasm the proposal of Triacca call this wine "Giovanni Segantini".
The painting chosen for the label "Southern Alps" of 1891 shows affinity with the wine of Valtellina, thanks to its peasant character.
The Segantini is a great wine, it combines the authentic flavors of Valtellina.
