Fracia is a vineyard owned by Casa Negri beginning of the Valgella DOCG sub-area (from the Latin vallicula, Vallicella) in common of Teglio on terraces supported by dry stone walls on the steep slopes of the Retiche Alps along the right bank directions.


The grapes: 90% Chiavennasca (local name of Nebbiolo), 10% Pignola and Pinot nero.

The vineyards: 6. 49. 78 hectares. The vineyards, with altitude varying between 350 and 500 meters are cultivated with Guyot system, with a southern exposure.
The yield of grapes is limited to 70 quintals per hectare, equal to 49 hectoliters of wine.
Vinification: the ripe grapes, harvested in late October, are vinified traditionally "red", with 12 days of maceration on the skins in the must, the fermentation occurs at 28° - 30° C.
Aging: new wine remains in steel casks until March, then stop for 15 months in oak casks Slavonia, the aging glass is at least 6 months.


The wine
: garnet vivid colour, red brick shades, intense aroma with hints of withered flowers (purple, pink stain) and spices, with flavours of jam for more; taste dry, hot and fruity, with an elegant fund plum and bitter almond rightly persistent.

Optimum conservation: 5-6 years in bottles horizontally in a cool and dark.

 

Servine Temperature: 20°C.
