Triacca Casa La Gatta Valtellina Superiore DOCG

"La Gatta", once a convent, is now the home of our family in the Valtellina. This is where we receive our friends and share with them some special bottles. A welcoming drop of our elegant Casa La Gatta serves to introduce our guests to the wonderful world of wine-growing in the Valtellina. Noble Nebbiolo grapes from the steep slopes of our vineyards in Bianzone and Tirano are fermented under strict temperature control, in order to maximize the wine’s flowery aromas and natural suppleness. The wine spends over two years maturing in large wooden casks.

Production area: Triacca vineyards located in the Bianzone Municipality.

Grape variety:: 100% Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca)

Alcoholic content: 12.40% Vol.
 
Colour: ruby red, taking on a hint of orange with ageing.
Perfume: intensely vinous, fresh and fruity.
Taste: dry, fruity, very  elegant, with a pleasant tannic note.

Storage: up to 6 - 8 years
Serving Temperature: 16° C.

FOOD MATCHING: excellent with Pizzoccheri (buckwheat pasta), pasta of all sorts, air-dried beef and cheese.
