Grapes: Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca).
Vineyards: production comes from vineyards in the area called "Dossi Salati", near the town of Sondrio.
The vineyard is facing south, 600 m a.s.l. on a sandy-gravelly jet typically sub-acidic. Shallow and characterized by a surface layer extremely compact.
This Grumello Reserve is a wine produced exclusively in the best years.
The harvest is made manually between the second and third week of October.
Note by winemaker about Vintage 2013: "The 2013 vintage is in Valtellina absolutely one of most interesting vintages. The perfect quality of the grapes allowed a wine very well balanced and an amazing product able to reach the operfection ageing over the years".
Winemaking: malolactic fermentation by spring.
Ageing in new French oak barrels for a period of sixteen months. Following a break of four months in stainless steel before bottling. The aging in bottles is done in dark and cool cellars for at least two years before release.
Alcohol content: 14% Vol.
Characteristics:
Deep ruby color.
Fragrance characterized by a wide range of flavors ranging dall'amarena in alcohol, until the purple licorice.
Rich flavor, enveloping, complex and persistent.
Food matching: This wine goes well with red meats, game and aged cheeses.
It serves at 16-18 ° C in glasses capable.
