Mamete Prevostini GRUMELLO GAROF Valtellina Superiore DOCG

Region: The specific area for the Grumello is situated east of Sondrio on the most intense and rich soils of the Valtellina Superiore zone; it takes its name from the Grumello Castle (an XIII century fortress) wich dominates the entire region.

Grape: Nebbiolo, 100%

Production method : The fermentation process takes place in stainless steel containers and involves 8 days when the must on the skins is incorporated by maceration,12 months of maturation in oak barrels and a further 8 months of refinement once bottled completes the process.

The wine: A ruby-red colour almost garnet-like, a bouquet that is a delightful combination of strawberries and blackcurrant, and a body which has subtle, velvet overtones.

 
FOOD MATCHING: it goes in preference to typical valtellina dishes but also pasta, risotto with mushroom or bresaola.
