Production area: West of Sondrio, Sassella is the most important sub-zone of Valtellina Superiore and it is named after the homonymous promontory 

Grape variety: Nebbiolo, 100% 

Vinification: Fermentation with 8 days maceration of the peels on the most, 12 months maturation in oak barrels and 8 months bottle refinement 

Main peculiarities: Purple red colour; bluberry and blackberry bouquet; strong, definite yet smooth taste, with a refreshing licorice and almond finale.
